Rock the Block was a success! If you haven’t seen all the work that was done last week on Charles W. Manning Sr. Way, you should ride by and check it out.

Various city departments collaborated with organizations such as RISE UP, the Dublin location of the Georgia Red Cross, T. Lake Environmental Design, Dixie Lawn & Landscaping Inc., and others to clean up, beautify, and educate the community.

Safety was addressed by checking smoke detectors in each house, painting fire hydrants, and even creating designated school bus stops for the kids. Friends gathered to help finish some hurricane cleanup, even!

The grass was cut, trash was picked up, and folks came out to clean up their yards together as a community. We laughed, we hugged, and we spent time together with one goal: to ROCK THE BLOCK!

The next step is to keep the block clean and maintained.

Sometimes, you need to work together to get things back in order. By keeping your neighborhood clean and well-maintained, you build morale, support one another mentally, and take pride in your homes and community.

That’s precisely what ROCK THE BLOCK accomplished for this area. The city’s goal is to support neighborhoods so that everyone feels empowered to foster a sense of community pride and maintain all areas in their best condition.

Remember, this is a pilot program—a trial run, if you will. So, be on the lookout for our next efforts throughout the city. ROCK THE BLOCK may be coming to a neighborhood near you!
