The City of Dublin, Dublin City Schools, the Laurens County Commission, and the Laurens County School System have joined forces with Ferst Readers and the Mayor’s Reading Club to enhance early literacy opportunities for young children in the community.

On Wednesday, December 10, the groups presented their efforts at Susie Dasher Elementary and Southwest Laurens Elementary. Together, they are working to increase access to books, support families, and align school and community initiatives for children from birth to age five. This collaborative effort aims to close literacy gaps and prepare young learners for long-term success.

Mayor Joshua Kight stated, “By supporting early literacy together, we are making a long-term investment in the families and businesses that help Dublin thrive.”

Interim Superintendent Marcee Pool added, “When families and schools collaborate with community partners, we create stronger foundations for every student who walks through our doors.”
