Dublin, GA — The City of Dublin successfully concluded its second Rock the Block initiative following three impactful days of community collaboration on Victoria Drive and Victoria Court. The pilot program brought together city departments, community partners, and residents to improve neighborhood conditions, enhance safety, and build stronger connections that will last well beyond the event.

From day one, the initiative demonstrated its value as city teams and neighbors worked side by side to revitalize the area. The Dublin Fire Department, in partnership with the American Red Cross, conducted door-to-door visits to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, helping ensure homes were safer for residents. At the same time, the Sanitation Department began large-scale debris removal efforts, while the Street Department worked to improve the appearance of roadways through street sweeping.

As the initiative progressed into its second day, the focus expanded beyond immediate cleanup toward long-term impact. Fire personnel returned to conduct follow-up safety checks and provide education, reinforcing families' preparedness. Meanwhile, the Dublin Police Department worked directly with residents to establish a Neighborhood Watch program, strengthening communication, awareness, and ongoing partnership between neighbors and law enforcement.

By the third and final day, teams completed detailed inspections and cleanup efforts, leaving the neighborhood refreshed, safer, and set up for continued success. A notable contribution from Dixie Lawn & Landscaping Inc. helped remove fallen trees, further enhancing the area. The initiative also gained regional attention, with 13WMAZ highlighting the effort and sharing Dublin’s story of community pride and collaboration.

The measurable impact of Rock the Block reflects the strength of this collective effort. Over the course of three days:

43 smoke alarms were installed in 29 homes, along with 3 carbon monoxide alarms, benefiting 81 residents

Crews collected 24 tires, 2.5 tons of construction and demolition debris, and 2.16 tons of yard debris

Rights-of-way were cleared, trimmed, and cleaned, and signage was replaced

16 residents committed to a Neighborhood Watch program, including a designated community leader

City Manager Josh Powell emphasized the significance of the initiative and the community response:

“Rock the Block is really taking flight and making a difference in our community. It is great to see the community embracing this opportunity to take pride and responsibility in their properties and neighborhoods. All of your efforts are making a difference. I think the most important part of this entire effort is letting the community know we are here for them and that we care.”

Powell also recognized the wide range of contributors who made the initiative successful, including the Planning and Development Department, Code Enforcement, Police and Fire Departments, Public Works (Sanitation and Street Divisions), Marketing and Communications, and Councilwoman Tess Godfrey for her support.

While the three-day event has concluded, the purpose of Rock the Block continues. Designed to create lasting change, the initiative encourages residents to remain engaged, maintain their properties, and continue building relationships with one another and with City departments.

What began as a neighborhood cleanup evolved into something greater—a renewed sense of pride, stronger partnerships, and a shared commitment to keeping Dublin’s neighborhoods clean, safe, and connected.
