Council Member
Matt Hatchett

Matt Hatchett was elected to the Dublin City Council by
special election in November of 1999. This is Matt's first elected position. He has
served on the Dublin-Laurens County Chamber of Commerce board, the Hospice board, as
president of the Boys and Girls Club board, United Way capital campaign chairman,
vice-chairman, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Heart of GA United Way, which
serves 5 middle GA counties. He is a 1988 graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton,
SC with a degree in Math and Economics. He currently owns and manages Hangers Cleaners,
Plum Alley and Brusters Ice Cream with his wife Kim. He is a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Dublin. Matt and Kim have 2 beautiful daughters.
