Matt Hatchett was elected to the Dublin City Council by special election in November of 1999. This is Matt's first elected position. He has served on the Dublin-Laurens County Chamber of Commerce board, the Hospice board, as president of the Boys and Girls Club board, United Way capital campaign chairman, vice-chairman, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Heart of GA United Way, which serves 5 middle GA counties. He is a 1988 graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC with a degree in Math and Economics. He currently owns and manages Hangers Cleaners, Plum Alley and Brusters Ice Cream with his wife Kim. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dublin. Matt and Kim have 2 beautiful daughters.
