City of Dublin Wireless Wireless Georgia Grant Funding Dublin Wireless Project Announcement Contact Information Location: City Hall Bidding Information Location: Purchasing Department The City of Dublin was awarded grant funding through a Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) program called "Wireless Communities Georgia" in October of 2006. This funding will allow the city to build a Wireless Mesh network to cover an estimated 40% of Dublin's city limits. This network will have the capability of providing connectivity to the end users without the need for any additional equipment other than an 802.11 a/b/g compatible device. The wireless network will provide connectivity and cost savings for Dublin's Water and Sewage Systems, Police Department, and other Departments with field personnel. Also the network will have the capability to provide internet service to the citizens and visitors of Dublin that are within the coverage area. The Wireless Network will be implemented over 3 Phases over a 2 or 3 year period. Those phases and the affect they have on the overall network will be determined throughout the project. Each phase, the details and progress pertaining to that phase, will be listed below.
